Kilcoe National School
Skibbereen, Co. Cork
On Saturday January 9th we participated in the RDS Primary Science Fair which took place as part of The BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin. The children's project was based on 'How can Kilcoe use water to power our school'. At the RDS they did an excellent job at presenting their project to members of the public as well as to the Science Fair Judges. The children also had time to explore the many other projects and exhibits at the Young Scientist Exhibition. At the end of the day they received a superb report from the judges and were presented with a Young Scientist trophy. It was a fantastic experience for all of the children with all of them thoroughly enjoying their busy and productive day. This is a great achievement for our school. The promotion of science and technology is essential for children for their future development in today's technological society.
